More bad news for Maine’s economy . . . policymakers in New Hampshire, as part of their new budget, have lowered their cigarette tax by 10 cents.  This widens the tax gap between Maine and New Hampshire to $6.24 per carton.  Lower cigarette prices, lower gasoline prices and summer weather means that more Mainers will be heading to New Hampshire–to cross-border shop that is.
