Maine Policy Pours with Tim Keller, Institute for Justice
July 29, 2020 @ 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM
Join us for a special Maine Policy Pours virtual event to discuss a recent Supreme Court ruling in favor of greater private school choice for families in Maine and across the country.
Maine Policy welcomes Tim Keller, Senior Attorney with Institute for Justice (IJ), to discuss the recent Supreme Court ruling on Espinoza v. Montana Dept. of Revenue and its implications for a case we are watching from Maine, Carson et. al v. Makin, currently in the First Circuit Court of Appeals in Boston.
Tim Keller leads IJ’s Educational Choice Team. In this role, he oversees a talented group of IJ attorneys who help policymakers design constitutionally defensible educational choice programs and who defend educational choice programs in courtrooms nationwide.
He served as IJ’s lead counsel in Arizona Christian School Tuition Organization v. Winn, a U.S. Supreme Court victory that protected Arizona’s pioneering tax-credit-funded private school scholarship program. Tim also successfully defended Arizona’s Empowerment Scholarship Account Program, a publicly funded education savings account program he helped design.
