Research fellow, Jonah Davids, joined the WGAN Morning News to discuss his experience at an education summit this week hosted by the Maine Department of Education. Jonah calls into question the Department’s new “Measure What Matters” initiative, which seeks to find new ways to measure success in schools that does not include objective metrics like test scores. He also talks about the troubling new direction of public education in Maine, which aims to replace traditional education with social emotional learning coupled with AI and computer-based technologies.
