Liveblogging the Education Committee’s Work Session on LD 1801

The Education Committee’s has started off its work session on LD 1801, and after a bit of talk with the commissioner about her bill, we are, right off the bat, into a charter school debate.

But is it all for nothing?

A highly placed source has told be that the Senate President and the Speaker have “already decided” that they will not allow a charter school bill come to the floor, under a rule that prohibits bills which were defeated in the first session of the two year legislative session to be reconsidered in the second of the two sessions. The charter school language being proposed is different, but not different enough, evidently…

No vote from the committee yet….
