The Maine Heritage Policy Center’s CEO and Chief Economist released the following statement on Friday in regard to the latest unemployment report from the Maine Department of Labor:

PORTLAND, Maine – “Maine’s falling unemployment rate is more than some statistic. It means nearly 4,000 more Maine workers than last year have jobs as we head into the holiday season. This good news is directly attributable to historic tax reform made by the 125th Legislature and Governor LePage’s bushwhacking of Maine’s regulatory jungle,” said J. Scott Moody, CEO and Chief Economist of The Maine Heritage Policy Center.
