Maine native Liam Sigaud selected as next Policy Analyst

PORTLAND – After working with Laim Sigaud of Rockland, Maine for several months, The Maine Heritage Policy Center, Maine’s foremost free-market think tank, has proudly selected Sigaud as its new Policy Analyst.

“We are happy to continue to have the opportunity to delve into policy issues facing the State of Maine with a tremendously qualified individual, such as Liam,” said MHPC CEO, Matthew Gagnon.

“His unique background and passion for public policy lend a fresh perspective to policy issues faced by the State of Maine today.”

After graduating summa cum laude from the University of Maine at Augusta with a degree in Biology in 2013, Sigaud began to explore his interest in Maine politics, volunteering on several campaigns throughout the state during the 2014 elections.  From there, Sigaud worked as a research assistant at the Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor, ME, devoting his skills to the study of neurodegenerative disorders such as ALS and Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

Most recently, Sigaud proved himself to be an invaluable addition to the MHPC staff, serving as an intern for several months before accepting the position of Policy Analyst.  Sigaud has recently been focusing on welfare and healthcare issues and will soon be expanding his research to include education, regulatory policy and Maine’s dysfunctional political culture.

Please join us in welcoming Liam to the team.  You may contact Liam Sigaud at lsigaud@mainepolicy.org.
