It is a full week for the Pulse as Matt, Jake, Harris and Garrick discuss the new Pan Atlantic Omnibus Poll, which shows some intriguing results.
If this survey is to be believed, in the Democratic primary for U.S. Senate, Janet Mills has opened up a ten point lead on Graham Platner. In the polling we talked about last week, it was Platner up double digits on Mills. What’s really happening, and is this poll telling us anything reliable about that race?
There are also results on the Republican and Democratic races for governor. The big takeaway from both is that the field is wide open, and we could conceivably see almost any combination of candidates winning their respective primaries.
We also tackle the recent news that there is an organized effort afoot to launch a ballot initiative that would end recreational marijuana sales in Maine. Will they get the signatures to get it on the ballot? If they do, will the repeal effort succeed? We discuss.
Finally we note that the city of Portland has decided to ask a question with an obvious answer: is the city’s inclusionary zoning rule destroying the housing market in the city? It obviously is, as is almost universally agreed among economists, but the city is going to spend a bunch of money to “investigate” something they should already know.
This and more on this week’s Pine Tree Pulse.
