Two bills in the Legislature seek to hike taxes. Again.

On this episode we take a peek behind the curtain in Augusta, where lawmakers are once again attempting to raise income taxes due to their insatiable desire for more of your money to spend on their pet projects.

Two bills seek to soak Maine taxpayers (albeit in different ways), and we can expect that they may very well pass, forcing Janet Mills to decide whether or not she wants to sign tax increases in an election year.

We also get into some other things going on in the Legislature, including a highway camera bill and a move to try to regulate data centers.

Also, Mills shoots back at the Trump administration over the accusations of fraud that continue to haunt her administration. Mills accuses the White House of politically motivated attacks to harm her, and presumably her campaign for Senate, and claimed that fraud is not a real problem in Maine.

Finally we catch up on the rise in gas prices, the war in Iran, and recent terrorist attacks in New York City and elsewhere. That and more on this week’s Pine Tree Pulse.
