End the State of Emergency!
Lawmakers are set to vote on a joint resolution on March 10 to end the state of emergency Governor Janet Mills declared in response to the coronavirus pandemic last year. The Legislature must regain control of our state on behalf of their constituents. One person was never meant to wield so much power!
Emergencies don’t last forever. Emergency power laws exist to allow a governor to quickly respond to an immediate threat; they don’t exist to allow one person to unilaterally control the entire state government for a year or more. It’s time to end the emergency and give the people of Maine a voice in their government again!
